Korean food is becoming popular in Japan. I think the reason is that there are both similarity and difference with Japanese food. The difference is that most of the Korean dishes have hot and sour taste. For example, the traditional food, kimchi, tastes very hot, but it goes well with rice, which Japanese people like very much. It is also attractive for people to be able to get a lot of small appetizers before ordering the main menu. It includes not only some vegetables but also some soup and meat. The best thing is that people can eat as much as they want for free. On the other hand, the similarity is the atmosphere. People can sit together around a table and share some of the dishes such as BBQ and bibimbap. They can really enjoy eating at a homey atmosphere. Following those reasons, I believe that Korean food is very attractive for Japanese people.

I'll never forget the first time I had a meal in Seoul. I was served 6 different varieties of Kim Chee before I had even ordered anything! Since I like Kim Chee so much, I had to take care not to eat too much of it and spoil my dinner.
